Rainy sea trial voor Somtrans XVI On Monday the 12th of February colleagues Wim Boom and Peter van Helden had to defy the rainy and drizzly weather for the sea trial of the Somtrans XVI. This ship was completed at H&U in Dinteloord. Despite the fact that the weather wasn’t very helpful, the Veth Steering grid (type VSG-1200) passed the test with flying colors. Mr. Somers, director of Somtrans, was also present and tested the steering grid himself. The ship reached well her speed at 100% cargo, so both the captain and our colleagues were satisfied. This steering grid was the eight bow thruster that Veth Propulsion delivered to the shipping company Somtrans.
